Soothing Christian Folk Rock with Peaceful Sounds of Nature and Celtic Accents
I’ve written a song called IN MY BACKYARD. Actually this song was inspired by my feelings of jealousy over things that I wanted in my life that I saw that other people had. Then one day I found out that the very same people that I was jealous of were jealous of my for things that I had. So I wrote an sort of anti jealousy song. I’ve found I’m a lot happier when I’m thankful for what I have instead of wanting what others have.
I am an avid Beatles fan. I have every album they ever made. I’ve been collecting them since I was old enough to sweep out the garage and other chores around the house to go buy them. I also have them on the CD format and now on itunes.
When Cirque du Soleil came out with their LOVE show featuring the Beatles, I didn’t pay it too much mind. When certain people started telling me about how I needed to get this album and how great it was, I was skeptical. I’d heard it all and loved it all. I guess they didn’t know this about me. I was a Beatle purist.
Then I stumbled across a track from it on youtube. All I can say is WOW! I immediately went to itunes and bought it.
What’s the big deal you ask? Why is this so different .. I have all the albums.. what gives?
It’s an engineering masterpiece. They have taken tracks from different songs and managed to mix them together in ways that sound like they were meant to go together. Managing to mix the same keys, drum beats and vocals.
The whole thing is like a fun ride at the amusement park. From the opening track of Because.. acapella.. gorgeous isolated harmonies… they weave the tracks in and out with these haunting harmony vocals that sound like we are traveling through a time portal.. through the mist … It is a remix of all remixes. I’m hearing things like guitar riffs and harmonies that I never heard before because they brought things up in the mix that were blended way down before …
It’s an emotional ride as well. Weaving back and forth from gorgeous ballad to energetic rock perfection. The music moves me. I don’t know how else to describe it … I’ve often heard that it is impossible to explain what music is or how music effects you. I have to say, trying to put into words how amazing this album is, is a daunting task ..
Ok, now I’m gonna say it. If you like The Bealtes, and you have not heard this … you need to hear this!
This is my new single “Hello Hello” This is my first video with all original artwork. 100% of it is either done by me or my nephews and niece. I read the lyrics to them and they drew pictures for me of what they thought the song meant to them. I love the way all the pictures turned out! They all surprized me with their interpretive skills and their artistic abilities. So, I’m very proud of it. Thanks so much for taking a look! Hope you enjoy the song too!
This is my version of She’s Leaving Home by the Beatles. For those who don’t know it’s off the Sargent Pepper album. This was the album that changed pop/rock music forever. The Beatles went out on a limb with this project, using orchestras and sound effects and all sorts of cool and different things that had never been done before on a pop record. This song in particular emphasizes orchestra instruments .. mainly the harp. It was suggested to me to cover this song because it was a favorite of one of my online friends from England. My first thought was that I couldn’t do it because I didn’t have an orchestra .. but I found a solution. I plugged my ukulele into an effect pedal and it just sounded like a little harp! Love it! Have a listen for yourself .. If you have not heard the Beatles Sgt Pepper album yet … go run to itunes now and have a listen! It is still a masterpiece …
This is my version of “At That Particular Time” by Alanis Morissette. This is the first video I have made while playing the piano. A twitter friend of mine from Japan requested that I do this. At first I was not sure I could pull off the piano work but it was not as hard as I thought it would be. The piano I used has been in the family for well over 70 years. It needs a little tuning but it was really great to be using it.
I also decided to do it live while hooking my mic up to my computer. This way I’m able to really get clarity on the vocals. I really like the way it came out and I think this is going to be my standard from now on.

So January started me out with my first gig of the year. This was a fun one. Sometimes you have to be creative about playing out and you never know where you are gonna be asked to play. I provided music for an open house at a shoe store here in Atlanta called Fleet Feet. It kept me from getting lazy and dropping my momentum with playing live. I met some new people and learned a TON about how I can take things up a notch at my next gig. I had a some really cute kids sitting down in front of me. I loved their enthusiasm. It’s always nice to inspire!

My new EP “Fly High Butterfly” is days away from being released. I’m choosing “it’s Complicated” as my first single .. have you ever wondered why people select that option “It’s Complicated” on facebook? I always wonder what is going on with someone who makes this selection so I wrote an imaginary situation about someone who might have clicked that option ..

I’ve been working really hard over the last few months putting the finale touches on my new EP Fly High Butterfly. It has been quite a task but it is finally finished. I’ve been promising to have it in the stores by December and it is going to happen this week .. yay!. It is in the process of being processed lol. I’ll have more details and song clips available as well. I’m really happy with the way this one came out. My best so far in my opinion … ok this has just been a little note to wet you whistle but I promise it is really going to be available YAY!
There were 2 album cover variations that I was considering. Theses were done by my friend Jim Hale a profesional graphic designer JH Graphic Services. I have made a decision on it but would love to hear what your favorite is!
